Get rid of puffy eyes!!
Disgusted with the bags around your eyes? Not a fan of
cosmetic surgery? If you can be satisfied with looking a lot
better, as opposed to surgical perfection, there are several
ways to approach reducing the puffiness under your eyes without
going under the knife
1. Reduce swelling directly. Eye puffiness is a type of fluid
build-up (edema) in the tissues around your eyes, called the
orbits. Therefore, the steps taken to reduce puffiness are
similar to those taken to reduce any kind of swelling. The
following are "quick fixes" to temporarily encourage fluid to
drain away from under your eyes.
* Place cold cucumber slices on your eyes. It is the
cold temperature that is helping rather than the product
itself. The aroma, however, can be soothing and relaxing.
Slice them into 1/8" discs and let them float in cool tap
water for a few minutes. Shake them off well before applying
to your eyes..
* Use cold, refrigerated used tea bags. Like the
cucumber slices, the coolness reduces circulation, but the tea
actually has a slightly astringent (tissue-shrinking) effect as
well.
* For a less messy alternative, try putting 2 metal
tablespoons in the fridge and use them daily by placing the
backs against your eyes.
* Rinse your face in cool water and pat dry.
* Strange as it sounds, hemorrhoid cream, which is
meant to reduce swelling, may work well. Be careful not to get
it in your eyes. (This only works if you live in Canada.
Hemorrhoid creams in the U.S. are no longer made with the
active ingredient that reduces swelling.)
2. Get enough sleep. If you have puffy eyes all day, it could
be that you're simply not getting enough sleep, or the quality
of the sleep you are getting is poor. Puffiness under the eyes
is a common symptom of sleep deprivation.
3. Drink more water! Most people who find that they are prone
to puffy eyes are usually dehydrated. Try this over a long
term period and see the results. It's very effective.
4. Elevate your head when you sleep. It's not unusual to
have puffy eyes upon waking. A possible explanation for this
may be that when you are laying down for several hours in a
horizontal position and then stand up, the fluid that was
resting under your eyes is suddenly being pulled down by
gravity. This swelling, however, should subside shortly.
To reduce it, you can try elevating your head while sleeping
so that the fluid is not as drastically drawn down when you get
up.
5. Cure puffy eyes from the inside out. Puffiness is a
manifestation of excess fluid retention. By addressing your
body's tendency to tuck fluid away, you may be able to
indirectly reduce swelling around your eyes.
* Reduce your salt intake. A high intake of sodium
may be causing you to retain more fluid, in which case reducing
the salt in your diet may produce good results (not only for
your eyes, but also for your health in general).
* Snack on bananas and raisins, both of which
alleviate fluid retention.
* Consume cabbage or cranberry juice. Both are
diuretics, which will help you "evacuate" some excess fluid.
Don't turn to caffeine as your diuretic of choice, as it can
interfere with sleep and bring back the puffiness.
* Exercise to improve circulation, which will help
your body move fluid through your body, rather than letting it
accumulate.
6. Determine if you have any of the conditions associated with
puffy eyes. Sometimes the swelling is a side effect of another
condition, which is temporary, or must be treated individually.
* pregnancy - commonly associated with fluid retention
* hormonal variation in the menstrual cycle -
commonly associated with fluid retention
* dermatitis - sensitive skin is more likely to
swell in response to irritants
* allergies - can cause leaks in the subcutaneous
capillary beds around the eyes
* mononucleosis - puffy eyes may be an early symptom
of infection
* medication - puffiness or water retention could be
a side effect
* more serious medical conditions - see Warnings
below
7. Accept yourself. If you've checked with your doctor, then
your puffy eyes are probably only a cosmetic issue.
It happens with age, and sometimes it just happens. Learn to
draw attention to other features that haven't aged, such as the
color of your eyes, the curl in your hair, or your attitude
towards life.

How to apply Mascara!
Consider the types of mascara and select one appropriate for your lashes and the occasion. You have a choice of lengthening, thickening, long-wearing, conditioning and waterproof formulas, among others. For day, you might decide to add length, while a night on the town may require a long-wearing or thickening formula.
Select a color. If you have blond or red lashes, opt for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes.
Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, if desired, and apply all other eye makeup prior to your mascara
Remove the wand from the tube in one pull. Pumping the mascara will push air into the tube, potentially drying out the formula and introducing bacteria into it.
Begin with the underside of your upper lashes, moving the brush slowly upward toward the tips of your lashes. Always hold the wand parallel to your eyelid. Roll the brush slowly on the upward stroke to promote separation of the lashes.
Allow the first coat of mascara to dry before applying the second coat in the same manner
Use an eyelash comb to separate the wet lashes. Also blot the lashes with tissue paper if necessary to remove excess mascara.
Use less mascara for the lower lashes. Begin where the lashes meet the rim of the lower eyelid, and gently stroke downward.
Remove any stray mascara around the eye with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of eye makeup remover.

Mayonnaise for hair??
Mayonnaise is great for hair.
Although it may sound odd, mayonnaise is actually quite well known as an effective hair treatment. It just so happens that
mayonnaise is loaded with the vitamins, fatty acids, minerals
and protein that is extremely beneficial to hair and that gives
it a brilliant, lush quality. It’s important that you also
make sure to avoid using products like Miracle Whip - you want only 100% real mayonnaise, so make sure you look for it. When applying it to your hair, put it on rather thick. The goal is to soak each and every individual strand of hair. Then just wrap it up in your plastic bag and then follow up with a warm towel, and let your hair soak it up for about 15 minutes!
(You are going to smell like potato
salad. Be sure to take a shower before going out in public with
mayo hair.):)

Secret of applying Eyeshadow!!
Hey gals, well the truth is i am always confused about applying eyeshadow....but i researched some articles and i got some secret dat really worked :)Blending is key
You use three different colors: The base, usually a very light taupe, a highlighter for the crease and a main color for the lid, but how to get them to look as if they merge into each other like the colors of a rainbow? My secret: Start light then go darker. Brush the base color, apply the lid color and THEN apply the highlighter.
Choose shadows that make the color of your eyes pop
Matching the color of your eye with a shadow actually brings the color out (think blue shadow on blue eyes). At the same time, contrasting colors make eyes pop too (think a deep jeweled blue shadow on deep brown eyes)Never cover your browbone with deep color -- unless you're doing a cover shoot for Vogue
You don't want the drama too much shadow brings. Apply shadow up to the browbone but don't apply shadow ON the bone unless it's a neutral color or a highlighter.Highlighter can make or break your look
When applying dark shadow to the crease of your eye, be careful to blend only on the outside edge. Get to close to the eye and you'll cause your eyes to look teeny and beady.Set shadow with a great base
Primers are super hot right now because they help set makeup that stays for hours. I've found the secret to keeping shadow in place for hours is a shadow base. Almost everyone makes them but I swear by MAC paints.Shimmer is hot, but plays up wrinkles
Shimmer makes eyes really pop, but it also highlights heavy lids, lines and wrinkles. A great look for shimmer is to create a 'nude' lid, but apply a bit of gold shimmer to the browbone. Gorgeous!Smokey is great, but keep it to the lid
Making up a smokey eye? Keep color to the lid and just under the lower lashline. Don't extend color above the crease. How to pair shadow with red lips
Remember the beauty rule 'Thou Shalt Not Play up the Lips AND the Mouth.' If you're going for dramatic red lips (never out of fashion), cover unsightly blue lines on lids with a concealer or shadow primer and then keep eyeshadow light.Make eyes brighter with white
A dot of white shadow or pencil on the inside of the eye near the tear duct will make eyes look brighter.Go for color Taupe and lavender look great on all eye colors. Also consider mixing shades if you bought a color that's just too bold for you. Mixing an electric blue with taupe can turn out the most perfect color.

Face primers..how to apply it

hey gals..do u know wat a primer is...well its just like you prime a wall before you paint it, you can prime your face before you apply foundation. Primers are a relatively new concept in the makeup industry (they became popular in the last couple years) and you'll notice they've popped up everywhere. They actually work much like a moisturizer under your foundation does: they ease the application of foundation and are meant to create a barrier between foundation and skin.
Use face primers after applying moisturizer, then allow to set or dry before using foundation. Depending on your skin type, primers can be used just on the oily areas of the face such as the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin). Use only a small dab of face primer.
Face primers that have been given high average ratings from consumers at Sephora.com and MakeupAlley.com. Most consumers felt that primers smoothed their skin imperfections, absorbed oil, reduced shine, and helped makeup last all day with little or no touch ups.

Perfect hair is not born..its created!!

Hey gals, here r some commandments for perfect hair....
Cleanse: Wash hair every 3 days - daily washing steals the
natural oils from the hair cuticle and can leave your tresses
weak, limp and difficult to work with.
Tone: Stick to the colouring rules - whatever works with your
own colour and skin tone is key, so avoid going more than 3
shades either side of your natural hair colour. The most
important thing is that colour works with the wearer.
Moisturise: Treat hair to a intensive conditioning treatment
once a week – your mane will thank you for it.
The key to a perfect shampoo and condition? Finish with a
cool-to-cold rinse to help seal the hair cuticle and convey
natural shine, and always towel dry hair before conditioning
otherwise you could be diluting the conditioner by up to 70%.
Eat your hair beautiful! The healthier your diet the thicker,
shinier and healthier your hair. As hair is made of protein,
it makes sense to up your protein intake – think chicken, oily
fish, pulses and nuts. And do drink lots of water also to
banish dryness and promote natural sheen
Harsh UV rays are just as harmful for our hair as our skin.
What’s more, summertime nasties such as salt water and
chlorine contribute to the degradation of hair follicles –
meaning holidays can be particularly hazardous for hair.
Invest in a moisturising spray with UV protection and keep
it in your beach tote at all times.
Nourish, nourish, NOURISH! We just can’t stress it enough.
Treat your tresses to a deep conditioning mask once a week –
and throw the rule book out the window! Many masks will tell
you to leave the product on for around 10-15 minutes, but a
certain celebrity hair whisperer once told us that anything
under 30 minutes is pointless. And once you’re fully coated in
your conditioning mask, wrap your hair tightly in cling-film to
seal in the heat; this will activate the mask’s healing
properties. Movie-star shine and a silky-smooth finish
guaranteed; think dreamy, not dreary.
It can be tempting to just tug at a tricky knot until
it’s out, but do this and you’ll only wind up snapping the
hair. Have a little patience! Wet hair, and then use a wide
tooth comb to ease the knot in small increments - GENTLY.
For especially dry, fragile hair, load your comb with
conditioner or oils first to hinder any breakage.
Scissors should be a last resort!
If you want healthy, split-free hair, be sure to book in for
regular trims. Fine hair should be cut every six weeks,
whilst thick hair needs a trim every eight. Leave it any
longer and those split ends could move up the hair shaft,
which means the difference between a trim and losing a couple
of inches. It’s your call.
Blow-drying, styling, straightening – who knows where our
style would be without our favourite tools? But much as we
love them, the heat generated from these much-used appliances
can penetrate the cuticle and leave hair dry, damaged and dull.
Praise be to the heat-protection product! Invest in a good
thermal-barrier mist and use it every time you style to keep
those locks healthy and full of vigour.
‘Effortlessly sexy’ is the new mantra for hair. Don’t spend
hours battling with your mane; over-styling and product-loading
are big no-nos unless you want lifeless, lacklustre locks.
Instead, make the most of what nature gave you. Remember,
overly-styled, stiff-as-a-board looks are out, naturally sexy
and carefree styles; in!

How to Fake Full Lips
Who doesn’t want Gisele’s perfectly sexy “I just got out of bed

Turns out the secret is rolling around in bed!
“I tell her to wash her hair the night before an event instead
of that morning,” says her stylist, Harry Josh. “This way, she
sleeps on it and gets a good matted bedhead-y texture.” To
prepare her hair for an event, Josh uses a giant iron—the
biggest you can find—on her second-day hair to give it a bit
of bend, along with dry shampoo,to give it fullness, adding
some John Frieda Thermal Frizz Ease Serum on
the ends to create a little shine and separation between
the waves.
